Beating Writer’s Block

Filed under: Article — Article Weblog @ 6:13 am

Once upon a time there lived a young girl (well almost young) who decided to write a fiction novel containing the most perfectly poetic prose possibly put to pen. Not that hard, right? Two months later she found herself stumped, for lack of a better word, and unable to leap beyond the frightening realm of…. Chapter Two! What was a young girl to do?

Superman: Enter Stage right.

Ok let’s be honest, Superman didn’t come to my rescue. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the ‘young’ girl was me, and this was the first roadblock, of many, on the journey toward writing my first bestseller. As I sat on my ever-so plump posterior, staring at the demonically defiant computer screen, I was hit smack in the face by what many famous authors call, inspiration.

Helpless victim executes Plan Google (a.k.a search for term “writer’s block“)

My first result sounded something like, “write it and it will come” and truthfully it wasn’t as silly as it sounds.

Writer’s block, also known as Muse Apnea, is the result of over thinking. What’s the cure you ask? Simple. Stop thinking and just start writing. Don’t edit, don’t critique, simply start writing about the first thing which comes to mind. In the end most of what you write will be complete garbage and not worth the paper it’s written on (clich

Ezine Article Authors Need To Pay Attention to Pictures

Filed under: Article — Article Weblog @ 1:16 am

If you are a writer of articles which are then distributed to Ezines or a website content then you need to consider using a picture with your articles. If you use a picture then you will need to make sure the picture makes sense and that it is indeed proper for you marketing mission and goals.

Recently I read an interest piece on just how to properly use a picture with your articles written by Expert Marketing Consultant Don Crowther. First I want to say that personally please do not take this comment as an egomaniac, know-it-all or a super star of advertising, as this is not my intention at all. However, I just happen to know a lot about this subject and not just from school and my stint as an advertising representative for an General Aviation Newspaper, the largest of its kind in the World at the time (formerly in the aviation business; www.AircraftWashGuys.com).

Now then, I have re-read this article by Don Crowther and analyzed it completely from top to bottom. I cannot find one thing wrong with it at all. Only more I would add to it, but where would you stop? I mean you could write a PhD dissertation on the subject and 1000s have already meaning this subject could be 175,000 pages and at least 25 excellent Advertising Text Books with 10,000 case studies in all Industries and sub-sectors. But to Don’s credit he has been able to summarize this quite nicely into a small article.

When one online article submission website put up the pictures on their site and allowed them to be transferred with the articles, they did all the online article authors a huge favor and you can take this advantage and supercharge it by taking Don’s advice.

I hope you will all see the extreme value in all of this and take it from all the experts and listen to what works and why and boost your online article readership following and help your traffic as well. Look up Don Crowther on the Internet and learn more about self-branding your articles with a proper picture.

How Does an Online Article Author Submitter Explain What they Do

Filed under: Article — Article Weblog @ 11:14 am

If you are an online article author perhaps someone in your family has asked what you are doing when you spend all that time writing articles? I have recently been telling them that I am writing articles for mass distribution. Then the next obvious question they ask is; How are these articles being distributed?

Well simple I tell them; I submit the articles to an online article submission website and these send them out using RSS or real simple syndication and then websites pick them up for content, sometimes print medium and often Ezines too. What is an Ezine they ask? Simple I tell them it is an online newsletter or electronic magazine, which is usually sent out via email to thousands of email subscribers. Oh; they usually say.

Once my articles are posted in the online article submission site the Ezine Publishers capture it that way. Which puts the article into the pipeline so to speak; so they can EZINE IT! Whenever I explain this people look at me funny and then have that dumb puppy look? I explain the Ezining it, well, one could say would then be an action verb.

Because the act of putting your articles into distribution for Ezine Publishers to pick it up could be called Ezining It! In other words this is what I call the posting of an article for the sole purpose of getting Ezines to distribute it? There is no word for that action, so I simply made one up; Ezining it or Ezine It a verb. Kind of like Faxing It or Zerox it or FedEx it. Generally after I explain this to them, they want to start writing more articles also. Consider this in 2006.
